Boca Juniors Shuts Out Club America 2-0

Boca Juniors scored two goals to compliment their defense’s clean sheet as the Argentine club shut out Club America 2-0 in Group D of the Prospects Cup.

Boca took the lead in the 20th minute when Facundo Herrera slotted a cross past America’s goalkeeper.

They would extend their lead in the opening minutes of the second half. Gonzalo Marquez stood over the corner kick, but instead of lofting a cross into the box, he bent a shot directly into the net for a stunning Gol Olímpico.

The victory lifts Boca Juniors to 1-1-0 ahead of their clash with Fluminense on Wednesday. Club America sit at 0-0-2 and will face off against their historic rival Chivas tomorrow.
