Everything You Need To Know About The Prospects Cup Finals
After three strong days of group play, the Prospects Cup Domestic and International Finals have been decided for Thursday. Weston FC and FC Dallas will face off on the Domestic side at 11:30 AM EST while Manchester City and Fluminense will meet in the International match at 1:00 PM.
Weston FC blanked Orlando City 2-0 on Monday and kept another clean sheet on Tuesday in a 3-0 win over GPS. They conceded their first goal of the Prospects Cup on Wednesday morning against the LA Galaxy, but still won 3-1.
FC Dallas was also dominant defensively; they won their opening matches against Tuzos, Sockers FC, and Real Jersey 1-0, 2-0, and 2-0 respectively.
On the international side, Manchester City advanced from a challenging Group C with a 2-1-0 record. They opened group play with a 2-1 win over Real Madrid on Monday, which they followed up with a last second 3-3 draw against Roma. They punched their ticket to the finals this morning with a 4-0 win over Borussia Dortmund.
Fluminense reached the finals thanks to a dominant showing in Group D. On Monday, they topped Club America 2-0; they edged Chivas 1-0 on Tuesday. On Wednesday, however, they turned on the flair, putting four past Boca Juniors for a 4-0 win.
The winners of both games will meet in the Prospects Cup Championship match on Friday.
